Four hundred tons of train, 25 mph of snowstorm, and 625 volts of electricity.

Sparks fly as the subway passes between Parkside Avenue and Prospect Park stations last night at 9:00 pm (see the video above). Shortly thereafter subway service was suspended on the Q and B lines and has remained frozen since, confronting those of us whose dwellings look out over the trains with a rare and (somewhat) disquieting silence. Our friend Hilah says that this line of track hasn’t been halted so long since the blackout of 2003 and transit strike of 2005.
